The Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Lithuania held its Second Annual Assembly

On April 5, 2025, the Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Lithuania held its Second Annual Assembly in Vilnius. The event brought together clergy and lay representatives from across the country for a day of prayer, fellowship, and administrative reflection.

Held at the Church of the Our Lady of Consolation, the Assembly opened with the Divine Liturgy, followed by an address from the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Lithuania. A letter of greeting from His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was also read to the attendees.

The conference portion of the Assembly featured two keynote lectures: Fr. Dr. Saulius Rumšas OP spoke on “The First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea and Its Significance” in commemoration of its 1700th anniversary, and Fr. Vitalijus Mockus presented “The 20th Anniversary of Lithuanian Orthodox Services (2005–2025)” marking two decades of Orthodox liturgical life in Lithuanian language.

In the final session, participants reviewed reports on the past year’s activities and finances. Exarch Fr. Justinas Kiviloo presented the annual report, followed by financial statements from CFO Gitana Jonynienė and auditor Nikita Ananiev. Fr. Vladimir Seliavko, Director of the Koinonia Foundation, also reported on the progress and financial health of the foundation established to oversee the construction of a new church.

The Assembly served as both a spiritual gathering and an important milestone in the continued growth and organization of the Orthodox Church in Lithuania under the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
